About Half Guard Club
Half Guard Club was founded on a great love for jiu-jitsu and a belief that we should show that passion even when we're off the mat. Wearing a jiu-jitsu shirt out in public is a simple way to spread awareness of our sport. But cool, high-quality jiu-jitsu shirts were always hard to find, so we started our own apparel brand.
We named our brand Half Guard Club because some positions get overlooked, and the half guard isn't one of them, not if you really know it. This brand is for the grapplers who found something in the in-between: those who discovered that the most interesting game doesn't always start from the top, and that patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of pressure can take you further than athleticism alone. We're not here for the highlight reel. We're here for the process: the drilling, the tapping, the getting back up, and the slow, steady building of something that actually works.
Our shirts are designed by a BJJ brown belt based in Northern California, someone who lives this world, not just markets to it. Each graphic carries a story, with a little humor, a little grit, and a nod to the culture that anyone who has spent real time on the mat will recognize immediately. From Western outlaws and reggae rhythms to minimalist typography, the designs reflect how wide, weird, and wonderful BJJ culture is, and how much it deserves clothing to match.
We keep it simple: good fabric, a broken-in feel, and artwork that starts conversations at the gym, at the coffee shop, and everywhere in between.
